How do you feel when you hear the word, TEST?  If you feel anxiety, you are not alone. Most people feel this with testing, and it obviously affects our performance. I would like to share a few tips about testing that can change this feeling of anxiety to excitement. The first thing about testing is to adjust your perception. It’s simply a challenge and challenges can make us better. Look at it as an opportunity to grow yourself. The next thing is prior planning prevents poor performance.  In other words, consistently practice and study. By consistently doing the work, you can  [ Read More ]

One of my biggest fears growing up was dogs. I love dogs now, but when I was knee high to a grasshopper, I would stay away from dogs like the plague.  My fear stemmed from a horrible experience at age 3. While petting a dog, I end up getting bit several times.  My fear kept me from enjoying the connection with these loyal animals. Finally, my parents helped me overcome my fear by getting me my own puppy. Now our family has enjoyed bonding with dogs and my fear is gone. Do you have a fear that’s stopping you from  [ Read More ]

What Is ELDOA? The ELDOA method is an innovative form of exercise developed by world-renowned osteopath Dr. Guy Voyer. ELDOA exercises consist of a series of specific postures aimed at relieving pressure and increasing blood flow around particular joints or spinal segments. This technique is a highly effective way to reduce pain, increase circulation, and improve posture, balance, and spine health. We offer ELDOA classes at our dojang on Sunday (2pm) and Wednesday (11am).  Contact Cyndi Jolly for pricing and availability at 850-712-3799. There will be no ELDOA class on Sunday, March 17 & Wednesday, March 20.

Have you ever been doing something and realized that you were focused on five other things? Everyday, right. Being in the moment can be quite challenging at times. With all the distractions in life, it is easy to get pulled in all of those directions. My encouragement for all of us this week is to slow down and be more focused on what we are doing in the moment. It will be challenging at first, but start small and work your way up. Start with slowing down, take a breath and focus on the task at hand. You can do  [ Read More ]

When you hear the word Test, how do you respond? Does it trigger anxiety or excitement? Here are my top two tips for testing. The first one is CONSISTENTLY DO THE WORK. Nurture the discipline needed to consistently do the work. Little but consistent steps will lead to confidence. The second one is to BE PRESENT MINDED. In other words, whatever you are doing focus on doing that to the best of your ability. If you are supposed to be at attention, make that the best attention possible. Don’t let past failures or anxieties of the future bog you down.We look  [ Read More ]
