This Week’s WOW (Word of the Week) – Confidence
This Weeks WOW (Word of Week) – Confidence
“One important key to success is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is PREPARATION.” -Arthur Ashe
We all know what confidence looks and feels like, but we also know the look and feel of NOT having confidence. In my humble opinion, it’s rather simple to build one’s confidence.
Here’s my formula. Vision + Consistent Hard Work + Belief = Confidence
VISION- Seeing what you want to be.
Have an idea of what your success looks and feels like, then start with that.
CONSISTENT HARD WORK- The crucial part of this formula takes a lot of discipline. You have to be willing to fail over and over in the pursuit of becoming more sure of yourself. Any successful person has a trail of defeats and failures behind them. The difference is that they didn’t quit.
BELIEF- Believe to achieve.
Keep telling yourself that you can do it. There’s something powerful about what we say after the words “I am…”. Be sure it’s what you want to become.
I am looking forward to improving our confidence this week. It’s time to go get it done!
Congratulations 2018 Grand Champions!
Saturday, May 19 – Several of our students competed at the Gulf Coast Martial Arts Championship. Each of our members represented themselves and school in a positive way. Our Team brought home 6 Grand Championship Trophies! Congratulations to Kyo Sa Nim Bailey Duane (Grand Champion Forms, Weapons, Sparring), Mr. Cody Nelson (Grand Champion Forms), and Master DuFour (Grand Champion Master Forms & Sparring).
Our next Competition Team Practice will be on Saturday, June 2nd (10-11am). Come out so we can help coach you improve for the next event!
This Week’s WOW (Word of the Week) – Commitment
“It’s the little choices every day that lead to the final results were striving for.” -Jason Bartels
As we rapidly approach the summer season, I want to encourage our members to stay focused and committed to personal improvement. It’s easy to slack off in attending classes and our personal training. One excuse after another often leads us down a path of frustration. Staying committed does take effort. However, doesn’t anything worthwhile in life take effort?
This week is all about a gut check on our commitment to making choices that will lead us down a path of success. No excuses…Go get it!
